Avenue paving to last the winter

       Although some of it may get torn up and may not last more than a year, El Paso County recently spent $275,000 to pave Colorado Avenue between 31st Street and Highway 24.
       County Engineer Andre Brackin said the relatively thin overlay was badly needed to avert winter potholes in advance of a major avenue project, which could start cutting into that part of the avenue in 2016.
