City official corrects himself on rental-cost info
Incorrect information was provided to the Westside Pioneer for an article that appeared in the Nov. 11 edition.
In the article, titled “No blood yet in battle for Bancroft,” Colorado Springs Parks Principal Analyst Mike McCauley was the attributed source for information that the volunteer Old Colorado City Historical Society (OCCHS) had paid $200 a day to rent Bancroft Park for the two days of Founders' Day last summer - compared with the $75-a-day fee that a private craft group had paid to rent it several times. Later in November, McCauley called the Pioneer to say he had inadvertently stated inaccurate rate information for the article. The OCCHS had actually paid the same amount as the craft group, he said.
