Postal collection box to return to Uintah Gardens

The postal collection box at the Uintah Gardens shopping center has only been temporarily removed because of the construction there, according to U.S. Postal Service officials.
“To the best of my knowledge, it will go back in,” said postal spokesperson Cindy Mauro. Postmaster Kyle Collinsworth added that it is postal policy to remove such boxes during construction, then return them after the work is done.
Construction since the summer at Uintah Gardens, 19th and Uintah streets, has involved building a new King Soopers gas station and razing the center's former satellite building in preparation for a new Walgreens.
Another postal collection box, which was at 15th and Kiowa streets before being removed a few years ago, will not be returned. It was evidently taken out because of low usage, Mauro said.
She knew of no other plans to add or subtract other boxes on the Westside.
