Donations welcomed for Howbert's 3rd annual Walk-A-Thon self-fundraiser
Starting at 9 a.m. and continuing for about 45 minutes, Howbert students, staff, family and supporters will begin walking laps around the school playground in fulfillment of donation pledges. Last year the event earned over $16,000; the goal this year is $18,000, according to Principal Bryan Relich. “The donations will support the purchase of some portable bleachers (risers) for our school,” he explains in the school's newsletter. A District 11 public school, Howbert is in the Pleasant Valley neighborhood at 1023 31st St. Donations for the Walk-A-Thon can be made by calling the school at 328-4200.
