Free flu shots offered for indigent on Westside Oct. 4 and 26 Free flu shots will be available Oct. 4 and 26 for people who are uninsured or whose insurance doesn't cover vaccines.The service will be provided by the Penrose St. Francis Neighborhood Nurse Centers. The locations will be: - Westside Cares, 2808 West Colorado Ave., Tuesday, October 4 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. - Westside Community Center (gymnasium), 1628 West Bijou St., Wednesday, October 26 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. According to Ruth Boling, adult immunization coordinator for Penrose St. Francis Health Services, vaccines will be available for adults and children as young as 4. Advance sign-ups are not necessary. Medicaid and Medicare will be accepted. “The vaccine is limited and will be available for as long as supply lasts,” Boling said. However, she added, “I doubt we will run out as we have 1,000-plus vaccines.”
