Flood warning can close Ute Pass

Responding to major flooding this summer, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will now close Highway 24 through Ute Pass if a Flash Flood Warning is issued or more than a quarter-inch of rain is detected in the burn-area rain gauges.
State maintenance crews have also begun 24/7 patrols between Manitou Springs and Cascade, a CDOT press release states. This procedure will last until Oct. 1, the release adds. From a press release |
