History Center to open Sundays in July and Aug.
The Old Colorado City History Center, normally open Tuesday through Saturday, will add 1 to 4 p.m. on Sundays in July and August.
Joanne Karlson, president of the Old Colorado City Historical Society (OCCHS), said that nationwide studies this year are showing that despite a bad economy, more people are visiting museums, so it makes sense to open the center more during the summer months. The OCCHS, an all-volunteer organization, owns and operates the History Center. There is no admission charge, although donations are welcome. It's another free, interesting place to wander, Karlson said, describing the center as a family place to go, and the price is sure right. Westside Pioneer article |
