Meet a Westsider:
Marie Mueller

Profession/Occupation... My husband and I own E & M Paint & Body.

What I like most about the Westside is... that it is a tight community – not all rambling and spread-out where no one knows their neighbor.

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... to have more community events going on here. Like the St. Pat’s parade. The fact that it was moved to Tejon Street is sad because that’s what we grew up with (the parade being a Westside event.)

A good movie I’ve seen recently is... “Little Fockers.” It was zany, crazy and just plain entertaining.

I'd like to discover... how to grow old and yet remain in perfect health.

If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... Corey Everson – she is the epitome of great fitness and health of body, mind and spirit.

The next time I travel, I’m going... New England (in the fall). I hear that it is the most spectacular place on earth at that time. If I stay long enough, I’d like to ski

My favorite childhood memory is... going to the beach with my family. We would swim in the ocean for hours, build sand castles and picnic.

My favorite spring pastime is... Even though it resembles a new beginning of everything growing and turning green, it’s also a time when people emerge from their houses and we can talk to them.

Something good I’ve read is... anything by John Grisham. I love Southern Gothic writers. I especially liked “The Street Lawyer,” where it turns his whole perception of homeless people into a positive way of thinking and helping them.

My pet peeve is... Colorado Avenue. I wish they would increase the speed limit to 35/40 mph (west of Old Town) and aftter 22nd going east. It crawls along for miles.

If I won the lottery I’d... volunteer at the Humane Society full time. I was once a vet tech and I remember how rewarding it was to heal, nourish and maintain an animal’s well being.
