Kum & Go opens at Fillmore and Chestnut with 10 pumps and a kitchen The west side of the Fillmore/I-25 interchange has a convenience store/gas station again. A Kum & Go store, which has been under construction on Fillmore Street for several months at its recently realigned intersection with Chestnut Street, opened today.Sitting on a 68,000-square-foot site, the store has 10 gas pumps, including diesel and E-85 fuel. According to a press release, the 5,000-square-foot convenience store features an in-house kitchen, which makes pizzas, baked goods and breakfast and deli sandwiches. It's the 10th Kum & Go in Colorado Springs, 12th in the region and 53rd in the state for the Iowa-based, family-owned national chain. The actual address is 3091 N. Chestnut St. Before last year's realignment project, Chestnut had gone straight north and south, just west of the Fillmore/I-25 interchange, and gas stations had been at the northwest and southwest corners. Both stations were torn down for right-of-way needs of that project and the interchange replacement project that's due to start in late summer.
