Meet a Westsider:
Rita Cohen

Profession/Occupation... I work for Wendy’s on West Colorado Avenue. I’ve been there about a year. I am a team player and work all areas in the store.

What I like most about the Westside is... I enjoy living in the community and the people, old and young. It is very nice on the Westside.

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... I miss the Flying W Ranch. I would like to see more of that type of place for get-togethers with family and friends. I’d also like to see more marked bike lanes for all-around safety.

A good movie I’ve seen recently is... “Hunger Games.” It showed how people really care about one another.

I'd like to discover... the end to all cancer, not just one.

If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... Toby Keith. He can really sing and it makes me happy.

The next time I travel, I’m going... I would like to visit as many relatives as possible in New York, Massachusetts and Seattle, Washington, that I have not been able to see in years. That would be very nice.

My favorite childhood memory is... going fishing with my dad and friends to 11 Mile Canyon. We’d bring my Honda 70 motorcycle and I’d mostly ride all day long and I never caught a fish.

My favorite spring pastime is... to go fishing with Marc and dad on our boat at Rampart Reservoir. We always catch our limit.

Something good I’ve read is... I don’t read much but I do read the Pioneer every Thursday when I’m on break. It’s very informative.

My pet peeve is... people who don’t know how to clean up after themselves at parks and recreation areas. They need to take out what they bring in.

If I didn’t have to work for a year, I would... spend more time with my grand kids. I’d teach them how to fish, swim and bike-ride. A lot of fun things I don’t have time for now.
