Bus stops on Route 3 now being offered every half-hour on Saturdays
Starting in May, the Route 3 Mountain Metropolitan Transit bus along West Colorado Avenue is running twice as often on Saturdays. Saturday stops were an hour apart; now they're every half-hour. The Route 3 bus operates daily. With the change, the route has half-hour stops Monday through Saturday. The Sunday bus stops are still an hour apart. Another just-implemented transit change on the Westside removes the detour from Route 4 that was imposed during the recently completed Cimarron/I-25 interchange project. The run is again taking Cimarron Street through the interchange instead of Colorado Avenue via the downtown and Eighth/Limit streets. Route 4 has hourly stops Mondays to Saturdays. Mountain Metro officials had proposed changes to Routes 3 and 4 - in addition to those on Routes 1, 10, 19 and 32 elsewhere in the city - at public meetings in January. The city-owned transit operation provides local fixed-route bus service and Metro Mobility ADA paratransit service for Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region.
