Students from Stratton Elementary check the temperature in Mesa Springs Creek in Sondermann Park April 6 as part of
the semiannual Keepers of the Water program for schools, run out of the park’s Beidleman Environmental Center. The April 6
program was the first involving the Catamount Institute since the private, non-profit enterprise recently took over center
operations. The Keepers program was developed by Colorado Springs Utilities with Friends of Beidleman volunteers.
