CONO workshop to offer free training in neighborhood involvement April 6 People interested in taking active roles in their community are invited to a free training event by the Council of Neighbors and Organizations (CONO) Wednesday, April 6 at the Westside Community Center, 1628 W. Bijou St.The Neighborhood Leaders Workshop will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. According to a press release, topics will include: - Working with city and county officials. - Working with Code Enforcement. - Beautifying your neighborhood. - Running a meeting and communicating effectively. - Recruiting volunteers developing critical relationships. CONO, an umbrella organization for neighborhood groups in Colorado Springs, decided to offer the training “in order to inform and educate citizens to work better together and empower communities and improve their quality of life,” explained CONO Assistant Director Sara Poe.
