Blues program at West auditorium Feb. 21
The West Middle School auditorium will host a free show Saturday, Feb. 21 honoring African-American contributions to music.
Featuring blues and rhythm-and-blues performances by local musicans, the program from noon to 3 p.m. will be led by Jim Adam, a band leader and proprietor of Jimbo's Take 2 Club in Colorado Springs. Also performing will be singer Saria Thompson, Spiritual Stairway (a male a capella group) and harmonica player Dan Todd. “It will be a cool, intimate show,” said E.D. Rucker, director of the West Intergenerational Center, which is sponsoring the program. “We've done it before and it worked out real nice.” Westside Pioneer article |
