Coronado auditorium hosts annual 'Westside Sings,' involving multiple schools
Starting at 6:30 p.m., the free concert will be at the Coronado High auditorium, 1590 W. Filllmore St. The Westside schools participating in the roughly hour-long program are Coronado, Holmes and West middle schools and Buena Vista Elementary. According to Shannon Glenn, the Chipeta music teacher who organizes the annual event, it "will feature select fourth and fifth graders in an Elementary Honor Choir, the middle schools will show off the next level of choral opportunities, and Coronado will showcase several different choirs." She estimated that the groups - sometimes separately - sometimes together - will sing about 12 songs.
