Beware of sunken Fillmore manhole cover
City Transportation Manager Kathleen Krager said she will talk to Colorado Springs Utilities about realigning a manhole cover that's about three inches below the road surface on Fillmore Street, west of Centennial Boulevard.Utilities had paved that portion of the four-lane thoroughfare after digging up its westbound lanes to install an underground water line late last year. The manhole cover is in the right-hand westbound lane. As a local motorist described it, the location is almost exactly where the right front tire of a car rolls if it is positioned properly in the lane.
