Opening the parachute

       The head of Buena Vista Elementary PE teacher Carrie Delius can just be seen in the back, above the parachute (and near the ball) lifted by her students during a class in the gym last week. “It’s a big cooperative thing,” she said of the parachute activity. “They can see how their piece contributes to the whole. There’s also imagination and problem-solving, like with the balls, when they’re figuring how to get them off there, plus coordination and endurance. And it’s all wrapped in a ton of fun.”
