Public meetings to include proposed changes to bus routes 3 & 14

       Changes on two bus routes serving the Westside are part of a new proposal by Mountain Metropolitan Transit (MMT).
       The proposal will be discussed at public meetings Tuesday, Jan. 28 from noon to 1 p.m. at Colorado Springs City Hall's Academy Room, 107 N. Nevada Ave.; and at Discover Goodwill, 1460 Garden of the Gods Road, Friday, Jan. 31 from 10 to 11 a.m.
       The affected Westside routes would be:

Route 3 (Colorado Avenue between downtown and Manitou) - a “key route,” according to an MMT press release - which would now get buses on Sundays and some holidays.

Route 14 (through Near Westside, Mesa Springs and Holland Park between downtown and ultimately UCCS) - the route would no longer get Saturday service, and its easterly segment from the Citizens Service Center on Garden of the Gods Road would be given to a new Route 34.
Attendance at the public meetings is not required to comment. The press release states that comments can be faxed to 385-5419 or e-mailed to transitinfo@springsgov.com, and will be accepted through Jan. 31.
