School-choice presentation at Westside charter school on night of Jan. 27

       Academy for Advanced and Creative Learning, 2510 N. Chestnut St., will offer a presentation to local families Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 6 p.m.
       The session has been scheduled “to answer questions about how school choice works in the area, about the similarities and differences between charter public school and traditional public school processes and about the Academy ACL program,” a press release states.
       Academy ACL is a choice-only K-8 charter school in District 11, specializing in gifted education.
       According to the D-11 website, the "window" for enrolling in a District 11 school outside a student's assigned attendance area is Feb. 13. Academy ACL lists Feb. 4 as the deadline for its "enrollment lottery."
