CDOT: Only 6 percent of Hwy 24 traffic stays local

       Increasing traffic is cited as the reason for needing an expanded Highway 24 through the Westside.
       Where does the traffic come from? The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has released studies that break out current travel patterns into four categories:
  • External (outside the Westside or Manitou Springs) to external: 40 percent
  • External to internal (inside the Westside or Manitou Springs) - 27 percent
  • Internal to external - 27 percent
  • Internal to internal - 6 percent
