Meet a Westsider:
JaiShree Prakash

Profession/Occupation... I’m a waitress, hostess, cashier, busser and kitchen helper at Vietnamese Garden. My real profession is in admistration.

What I like most about the Westside is... the proximity to Old Colorado City, Manitou Springs and Garden of the Gods.

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... to move the white house that’s in front of Vietnamese Garden somewhere else. We would be busier if the rest of the intersection could see us and we had better access. (Don’t get me wrong, we love our neighbors.)

A good movie I’ve seen recently is... “Bedtime Stories,” with Adam Sandler. It’s an inspiring movie about hope and dreams and the song “Don’t Stop Believin,’ ” (by the band Journey) brings it all together.

I'd like to discover... $100,000!! In a hidden treasure chest.

If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... Bob Marley, but he is dead. John Lennon, but he is dead too! Maybe the artist Pink.

The next time I travel, I’m going to... Arizona to see my friends Art and Virginia, who were also my former employers down in Canon City which were, so far, the best working years of my life.

My favorite childhood memory is... when my family was living in Zimbabwe and my older cousin came to visit. I’d get to go places with him and just be a kid. He also bought me a little pekingese puppy.

My favorite winter pastime is... relaxing in a hot tub or at the Hot Springs in Buena Vista.

Something good I’ve read is... the Book of Job (Bible) and “The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom,” by Don Miguel Ruiz, in which he explains the four simple rules to live by.

My pet peeve is... People who make out in front of me as if I am not there!

If I didn't have to work for a year I'd... travel. I’d like to visit my mom in India. I’d probably also do some volunteer work.
