Kum&Go still interested in 21st & Broadway
The Iowa-based company had submitted requests to the city last summer that would allow a 5,000-square-foot convenience store and 10 gas pumps on a 1.77-acre property, with access from 21st as well as Broadway. Recently asked about the status of the request, Ryan Tefertiller of City Land Use Review, the planner assigned to the matter, replied in an e-mail: “The Kum & Go on 21st and Broadway is still in the internal review stage. The development of the site requires that the property owner/developer work with the adjacent property owners to address some drainage from one property to the other. While I haven't talked with my applicant or the adjacent owners in some time, I believe they're still working to find a solution that works for both parties. Assuming the private parties can figure out a solution that is acceptable to the City, I'll be able to administratively approve the application; a public hearing at Planning Commission is not needed."
