The pumpkins were going fast

With an overall crowd exceeding 7,000, the 800 pumpkins that had been brought in disappeared quickly (even at $5 apiece) at the Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site during the annual, free-admission Harvest Festival Oct. 7. According to ranch manager Andy Morris, the turnout was double what it’s been previously. “We did 'survive without mishap,' but we will be making some changes to prepare for crowds of that size in the future,” Morris said, “such as more activities, police directing traffic at 30th and Gateway and more pumpkins, etc.”
