DQ, Pizza Hut gone from old Westside
Pizza Hut relocates to West Wind center

The Pizza Hut company closed its restaurant in the Red Rock shopping center off West Colorado Avenue in late December and almost simultaneously opened a new store - without the dine-in amenity - at the West Wind shopping center on Centennial Boulevard.
An employee said that the main reasons for the change were the unpredictability of the tourist market in the Manitou/Westside area and a change in customer habits - preferring pizza to go or to pick up rather than eating it in a restaurant.
Franchise owner Steve Patton added that it was part of a “strategic move” to serve the Rockrimmon area.
As a free-standing building in the parking lot near Safeway, the West Colorado Pizza Hut had offered at least a dozen tables for dine-in along with pick-up and delivery services.
According to County Assessor's Office records, the structure at 3167 W. Colorado Ave. was built in 1994, with 3,319 square feet of space.
Located among storefronts in the West Wind center (which is anchored by Albertson's and Ace Hardware), the new Pizza Hut consists of remodeled space with a relatively small indoor lobby, a counter to place orders and a kitchen in back. The address is 4131 Centennial Blvd.
