New Horizons seeks musicians

       People interested in music are invited to an “introductory coffee” with leader Ed Nuccio and other members of the New Horizons Band of Colorado Springs Wednesday, Jan. 6 at the First Evangelical Free Church, 820 N. 30th St. The time will be 9:30 a.m.
       There will also be a meeting Thursday, Jan. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Canon School cafeteria, 1201 W. Cheyenne Road.
       The New Horizons organization has eight bands in all, ranging from beginners to higher levels. There is a fee for participants.

       The Arati Gallery will hold an open house Friday, Jan. 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. for its January show, which will have the theme of “Tiny Treasures.”
       The art gallery is at 2425 W. Colorado Ave.
       “Due to budget and staff reductions,” City Parks will be reducing office hours at its main administration building, 1401 Recreation Way in 2010, a city press release states. Beginning Jan. 4, office hours (walk-in and phone) will be 8 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday.
