Natural Christmas trees can be recycled for $5 donation at Rock Ledge Ranch

“Treecycle,” a public-private recycling program for natural Christmas trees, will be offered at seven locations around the city on the weekends of Jan. 2-3 and 9-10.
The Westside drop-off is the Rock Ledge Ranch parking lot, off Gateway Road at 30th Street, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A donation of $5 per tree is requested. Funds will go to community youth sports programs, the Treecycle website states.
Trees will be ground into mulch on site, which will be made available at no charge. However, people wanting any mulch will need to bring their own tools to pick it up, or make arrangements for equipment delivery with Rocky Top Resources (a local business involved in the recycling effort), the website notes.
The other Treecycle drop-off locations are listed (with maps) at csyouthsports.org/treecycle.
