Meet a Westsider:
Mary Ross

Profession/Occupation... Bulk mail tech at the U.S. Post Office.

What I like most about the Westside is... the people. Everyone who lives and works on the Westside is friendly. You get a real sense of community.

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... probably more street appeal throughout. Such as the improved curbing and plantings they put on West Uintah around 21st Street.

A good movie I’ve seen recently is... I love musicals and, even though they are not terribly recent, “Chicago” and “Rent.” They both give you some insight on how different living in the same world can be.

The worst advice I’ve ever gotten was... the word “don’t” because you will always ask yourself what if I did.

If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... Bruce Willis, because he was in Colorado Springs years ago. I bumped into him on the street and I never stopped. I think I’d like a second chance.

The next time I travel, I’m going to... Italy – everyone who has been there seems to have nothing but good memories, and it would be interesting to see more aspects of my heritage.

My favorite childhood memory is... When I was 3 years old, I got a younger brother and ran to find my sister to come see!

My favorite fall pastime is... visiting producing wineries, or farms that have apples to pick or places with maple syrup running and tasting them all.

Something good I’ve read is.. “Outlander,” the many books in the series of Diana Gabladon. It takes you to a different place.

My pet peeve is... while driving – the inconsiderate cell phone users and most especially, the noise of someone else’s bass blaring in your space.

If I won the lottery, I’d... be elsewhere, maybe with Bruce Willis in Italy watching musicals and sipping wine.
