OCC History Center closed for holidays, to reopen Jan. 6

The Old Colorado City History Center closed to the public for the holidays Dec. 20 and will reopen Wednesday, Jan. 6.
The announcement appears in the West Word, the newsletter published by the Old Colorado City Historical Society, a volunteer group that operates and maintains the History Center.
Specializing in local history, the center is at 1 S. 24th St., offering a bookstore and a museum and frequent presentations. The facility also has catalogued archives of local history, particularly for early Colorado City.
Normal winter hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays, with longer hours in the warmer months.
The next event at the center will be Friday, Jan. 8, with a program by the Historic Preservation Alliance starting at 6 p.m. The cost is $5 to non-OCCHS members.
