HOGC gets first look at guidelines draft Dec. 20

       The Historic Overlay Guidelines Committee (HOGC) will meet on two Saturdays, Dec. 20 and 27, at 10 a.m. The HOGC will be meeting with Tim Scanlon, the city's historic preservation planner, to review an architect's draft of the building guidelines for a proposed historic overlay for the older Westside. Architect Steve Obering is also expected to be present for the Dec. 20 meeting, according to HOGC Chair Kristine Van Wert.

       The HOGC is a subcommittee of the Organization of Westside Neighbors (OWN).
       In other OWN news… OWN has begun planning for its annual board election, which will be Thursday, Jan. 22 at the Gold Hill Police substation. Anyone who would like to be a candidate is asked to contact OWN President Welling Clark at 471-4023. Three seats on the seven-member board will be open this time. OWN is also seeking volunteers for a nominating committee that would interview prospective candidates.
       OWN is the city-recognized advocacy group for the older Westside.
