Cougar Cheer squad takes sixth at state

       Coronado High's Cougar Cheer squad took sixth place in judging at the CHSAA 4-A State Spirit Championships in Denver Dec. 4, its highest finish ever. The team had previously won the Cheyenne Mountain Invitational in November! The team is coached by Jamie Brown and has 14 members.
      
       Runners 3rd at state
       The Coronado High boys cross country team placed third at state for the second time in three years in the State Finals race in Aurora last October. The 4-A meet was won by Cheyenne Mountain High.
       The team had also taken third in 2008 when Coronado was still a 5-A school (based on enrollment). Coached by Doug Hugill, varsity team members this year included Jesse Mathews, Dan Egger, Ryan Mott, Quin Ralston, Danny Mathews, Drew Stimson, Tate Lagasca, Phil Stafford and Justin Hayes.
