What do you do? ....
Where do you work and what is your title?
I work at the North Pole and I am the Chief Toy Maker.
What do you do there and/or what are you responsible for?
I oversee the production of all kinds of toys. Keep the morale and Christmas spirit high in the workshop and ensure the well-being of all the elves and reindeer.
How long have you been doing this kind of work (total)? How long on the Westside?
Approximately 1,700 years total, and I have been visiting the children of all ages on the Westside (in Bancroft Cabin before Christmas) for 5 years.
What do you like best about it (other than quitting time)?
Seeing the spirit of Christmas shine through the eyes of children.
If you could change one thing (other than pay), what would it be?
I would spread the spirit of Christmas throughout the year. Peace on Earth and good will to all.
What part of your work did your training/education never prepare you for?
I can think of nothing. Except the intense personal satisfaction and joy I receive.
What makes working on the Westside special?
The wonderful people and feel of Christmas.
“What do you do?” is a regular feature in the Westside Pioneer. If you know someone who has an interesting job on the Westside (but doesn’t live here), he/she might be a candidate for this column! If you know someone who might qualify, give us a call at 471-6776.
