What do you do?
Cyndi Clark

Where do you work and what is your title?
The Bank at Broadmoor, Westside. I am the manager/assistant vice president.
What do you do there and/or what are you responsible for?
I am responsible for growing the Westside location, making sure everything runs smoothly, including building issues (i.e. light bulbs, decorations) and hiring the right people to make our customers happy.
How long have you been doing this kind of work (total)? How long on the Westside?
I have been in banking for 13 years. I started out as a teller and worked my way up. I have been on the Westside for a year and nine months.
What do you like best about it (other than quitting time)?
I love the interaction with the customers. I like the structure of banking. Handling people’s finances is very touchy and I enjoy being able to do it professionally, yet in a neighborly way. I also love how wonderful my staff is. They are the ones who make this bank great!
If you could change one thing (other than pay), what would it be?
That I could have a full kitchen with a chef so I could take care of my staff. Otherwise, I would not change a thing. This is a great company to work for. Upper management really appreciates all of their employees and they show it. It feels like a family.
What part of your work did your training/education never prepare you for?
Constantly changing rules and regulations. It makes it a challenge but the changes also make it safer for the consumer.
What makes working on the Westside special?
The small-town atmosphere. It’s nice to have our customers walk in the bank and we can talk to them about their lives, family pets and interests.

“What do you do?” is a regular feature in the Westside Pioneer. If you know someone who has an interesting job on the Westside (but doesn’t live here), he/she might be a candidate for this column! If you know someone who might qualify, give us a call at 471-6776.
