Meet a Westsider:
Dee Anna Thompson

Profession/Occupation... Iím president of Vericlean Springs, a commercial cleaning company; and founder of Women with Hat-itudes, a fund through the Pikes Peak Community Foundation that supports women who own businesses.

What I like most about the Westside is... how quaint it is. Between making many friends here and having an evocative feel to it, Old Colorado City definitely makes you feel like you are at home!

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... I sure wish the shops would stay open until 7 or 8 p.m. That would bring so much more business and provide more customer satisfaction to the people that have regular jobs and canít get off until 5 p.m. every night.

A good movie Iíve seen recently is... ďHunger Games - Catching Fire!Ē It was thrilling and action-packed!

I'd like to discover... The Holy Land. Of course, a lot would have to change before we go there; like, the wars would have to desist, but it would be amazing to see and discover!

If I could meet someone famous, Iíd like to meet... Oprah. She is a positive inspiration, and a very powerful force behind anything she chooses to do!

The next time I travel, Iím going... Europe, itís romantic and wistful! We would love to spend a month there and go backpacking, dirt-bike riding and walk the Camino Trail.

My favorite childhood memory is... playing with my sisters in the irrigation ditches at our house, feeding our baby cows by bottle and horseback riding by bareback after giving them a bath.

My favorite fall pastime is... I love the fall! There is so much to do I canít decide what I like best. Two favorites are horseback riding through the Garden of the Gods and running through the leaves with my kiddos. Living in the Pleasant Valley neighborhood, we have Colorado Springsí greatest trails in our own backyard!

Something good Iíve read is... ďSometimes you win and Sometimes you Learn,Ē by John Maxwell. Any Maxwell book is an amazing read!

My pet peeve is... Lack of manners.

If I didnít have to work for a year, I would... I would continue my volunteer work for Women with Hat-itudes. I love growing our economy by creating a better community!
