Ambassadors in Old Colorado City on Christmas season Friday-Saturdays

Nov. 26, 2018
Aided by merchants working with the City Police and Fire departments are again providing roving Ambassadors this Christmas season in Old Colorado City and the downtown.
In an annual program that started Nov. 23 and will continue Fridays and Saturdays through Dec. 22, the volunteers will be recognizable in red fleece vests that say “Ambassador” on the back. Their two-fold task is answering questions from shoppers while also “serving as extra eyes and ears for our community,” a Police Department press release states.
The volunteers are trained through the city's CAPS (Community Advancing Public Safety) program.
In Old Colorado City, the CAPS Ambassadors will be operating in conjunction with the Old Colorado City Associates (OCCA) business group.
In other seasonal business news, OCCA President Franco Pisani merrily announced that the city will waive the enforcement of parking meters on December Saturdays through Christmas in Old Colorado City.
