Learn about Native American baskets

       A free talk on native American baskets will be presented from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30 at the the Adobe Walls Antique Mall, 2808 W. Colorado Ave.
       The presentors will be Debra Sherman, who is finishing her degree in anthropology; and Gary Vandermark, a former school teacher.
       They will talk about how these baskets are and have been created, histories of the various tribes and how styles differed from one area of the country to the other. Also, comparisons will be made between modern baskets and antique baskets.
       Refreshments will be served. Space is limited, so people are asked to register in advance at 635-3394.
      
       Books on the Ave, a bookstore, opened last month at 1708 W. Colorado Ave. The owners are Mary and Jeffrey Ferguson. The shop will be open Monday through Saturday.
      
       Wreckmasters, 315 S. 14th St., recently replaced its outside signs.
      
       A Touch of Class Studio (custom photography) has moved to 2018 Sheldon Ave. The owner is Alberto Leopizzi, who previously operated A Touch of Class Photo Gallery & Coffee Shop in the 2500 block of Colorado Avenue.
