Meet a Westsider:
Rosalie Kolm

Profession/Occupation... I’m a landlord and a bowling secretary.

What I like most about the Westside is... small town atmosphere and friendly people.

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... to stop the current building on every knoll on the Westside! The wild animals need a place to roam, but building is limiting their space.

A good movie I’ve seen recently is... I’m not much of a movie-goer, but I liked the old movies (“On Golden Pond”).

The worst advice I’ve ever gotten was... “Don’t be so adventurous.” I have now been most places I wanted to go and am still enjoying it.

If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... James Baker or Colin Powell. They seem to have good ideas.

The next time I travel, I’m going to... Russia to look up family history on my husband’s side of the family.

My favorite childhood memory is... Having been born and raised in Colorado (Western Slope), I liked Christmastime in the Rockies. We cut our tree, made our own decorations and enjoyed good food and family.

My favorite winter pastime is... skiing and bowling.

Something good I’ve read is.. histories of the Westside, mining stories and Colorado history in general. I wasn’t that interested in history as a young person.

My pet peeve is... drivers who do not pay attention to their driving.

If I won the lottery, I’d... buy all the vacant land on the Westside and keep it for open space. Next, I would take care of my grandchildren.

Meet a Westsider” is a regular feature in the Westside Pioneer. If you would like to be a Meet-a-Westsider (or know someone who should be), please give us a call at 471-6776.
