Meet a Westsider:
I am one of the “attendance ladies” at Coronado High School. I also serve on the Board of the Palmer Land Trust.
What I like most about the Westside is... The people, naturally! The fantastic neighborhoods are great, the diverse architecture is refreshing, the camaraderie and supportive atmosphere precious. Of course I think the schools are super... and I enjoy supporting the locally owned businesses we have here.
If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... I guess I would slow the “progress” of road improvements, and add more off-road biking and hiking trails to businesses and schools.
A good movie I’ve seen recently is... “What the Bleep Do We Know!?” Fascinating and mind-expanding!
The worst advice I’ve ever gotten was... I’m not sure! But the best? Perhaps, “Appreciate what is.”
If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... I’m quite content knowing the folks I know in the here and now. I suppose, though, it would be fascinating to meet another “person” from another universe to compare our “realities.”
The next time I travel, I’m going to... San Francisco, to visit my son Chris, who is in art school there.
My favorite childhood memory is... the opportunity to explore my small town and the surrounding countryside with absolute freedom.
My favorite fall pastime is... enjoying every moment! The fabulous sights and smells and sounds are awe-inspiring.
Something good I’ve read is.. “Kite Runner,” by Kaled Hosseini. It’s somewhat haunting and sad, but it provided me a small glimpse into the Islamic culture.
My pet peeve is... intolerance.
If I won the lottery, I’d... contribute, anonymously, substantial amounts of money to public education programs and environmental causes, and perhaps travel to some unique corners of the world.
