Councilmember Knight cancels his Nov. 13 community meeting

Councilman Don Knight has canceled a community meeting he'd scheduled Thursday, Nov. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Colorado Springs Utilities' Conservation and Environmental Center, 2855 Mesa Road.
The reason is expected "inclement weather," according to a Nov. 12 press release. The forecast calls for single-digit temperatures that night. "The meeting will be rescheduled to a future date," the release adds.
The meeting goal had been “to solicit citizens' input on the top issues facing our city as well as other topics of concern,” the original press release stated.
Suggested topics were the 2015 city budget, the Utilities budget and ownership of Utilities (currently a city-owned enterprise).
The Nov. 13 meeting time range had partially overlapped with that of Mayor Steve Bach's “community forum” Nov. 13 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. (which, as of mid-day Nov. 12, is still scheduled). According to information from spokespersons for City Council and the Mayor's Office, neither meeting had been scheduled with knowledge of the other's plans.
