Meet a Westsider:
jeweler and handywoman.
What I like most about the Westside is... what every Westsider likes... the small-town feel, the community, and the fact that it slows down at night. I also love the Westside live-and-let-live attitude.
If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... I like the old speed limit of 45. What’s the hurry? Why speed up just to slow back down for the lights?
A good movie I’ve seen recently is... “World War Z” and “After Earth.” The zombies had character (loved the gnashing of teeth) in “WWZ,” and “After Earth” was very philosophical and enlightening on fear.
I'd like to discover... a way to teleport people and goods, like in Star Trek, so current forms of transportation would become obsolete and we would have no more pollution from cars, planes, trains, trucks and buses.
If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... noboby. When you meet a famous person, you realize they are human just like you, except they have to live in front of a camera and have all their successes and failures on air 24/7. Besides, I like keeping them up on pedestals as perfect people in my mind!
The next time I travel, I’m going... I’d love to take my family and visit my cousin in Matzatlan, Mexico.
My favorite childhood memory is... visiting my grandparents in Rogers, Arkansas (the Ozarks) and playing in the creek, pasture and lake behind their house!
My favorite fall pastime is... seeing all the brilliant fall colors and walking through the falling leaves.
Something good I’ve read is... lately, I’m enjoying the “China Bayles” mystery series by Susan Wittig Albert. I grew up in Houston and love reading about the Texas Hill country to the west.
My pet peeve is... pit bulls running loose and people throwing trash out car windows. (Keep it in your car and properly dispose of it when you get home!)
If I won the lottery I’d... fix up my house, garden, visit friends and volunteer. I’d also camp more around the state!
