E-Town: Technical difficulties

The city's widely advertised “E-town” budget hearing Oct. 30 attracted a large crowd to City Council chambers, with 102 people initially signed up to speak.
But technical difficulties stymied a city effort to reach a remote audience.
The idea had been for people to watch on live TV and e-mail questions for City Council consideration. The TV feed failed because a key piece of equipment went out, according to Bill Beagle of SpringsTV.
“It was immensely disappointing to us,” he said.
Council took no action at the roughly two-hour meeting. Most of the speakers appealed to council not to cut allotmentss for disabled or senior transportation.
People can listen to audio of the meeting at the SpringsTV “Instant Items” website: http://www.springs gov.com/Page.asp?NavID=6997.
