Westside church a collection site for Operation Christmas Child Nov. 17-24

Calvary Worship Center, 2925 King St., is one of 11 area locations that will serve as a collection site for Operation Christmas Child Nov. 17-24.
Since 1993, the annual Christian charity effort has resulted in gifts to “more than 113 million children in more than 150 countries,” a press release states. “For many of these children, a gift-filled shoebox is the first gift they have ever received.” Anyone is welcome to contribute. People can pack their own shoeboxes or donate online. The shoebox gifts are often everyday items such as pencils, paper, books, apparel, jewelry, small toys and handmade crafts.
For more information, call Calvary coordinator Christy Douglass at 632-3311. The Operation Christmas Child website is samaritanspurse.org/occ.
