7-hour Cimarron-to-Nevada closure of I-25 scheduled night of Nov. 14

As part of the Cimarron/I-25 project, the interstate is scheduled to be closed in both directions between Cimarron Street and South Nevada Avenue the night of Saturday, Nov. 14 from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
“Closing the highway is necessary to allow Colorado Springs Utilities to relocate overhead power lines,” a press release states. “Motorists are encouraged to use Nevada and Cimarron as alternate exits. Watch for clearly marked detour signs to direct you.”
Replacement of the Cimarron/I-25 interchange is a Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) project, with Kraemer/TSH as the contractor.
Started in April, the project is due for completion by December 2017 and will also include replacements of the on/off-ramps.
