Duration time to be longer than announced for 21st St. work
A major 21st Street water-line project, once announced for an early-October completion date, will last until late November or early December.
Utilities analyst Kristin Flannery, who recently was assigned to the project, said she is researching the apparent communications breakdown and expects to have more information next week.
She stressed, however, that there has not been a delay in the project (despite a line break Oct. 21 that blocked traffic and required 12 hours to repair). The work involves installation of a 12-inch service and 20-inch main line in place of a leaky, half-century-old 16-inch pipe line that's there now between Lower Gold Camp Road and Busch Avenue.
