Meet a Westsider:
Victor Shephard
Profession/Occupation...
craftsman, proprietor of Shiloah Fine Carpentry.
What I like most about the Westside is... I can be an anachronism. I still love my country, I still love Jesus and I still love my neighbors. If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... to discourage investors who wish to make a quick buck on “trendy Westside” real estate. A good movie I’ve seen recently is... “The Loved One,” with Jonathan Winters in dual roles. The worst advice I’ve ever gotten was... It’s a tie between “You can’t fight city hall,” and “Mind your own business.” If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... Kit Carson or John the Baptist because they both loved the wilderness. The next time I travel, I’m going to... take a train across Canada. My favorite childhood memory is... square dancing in Bancroft Park on a warm summer evening with the prettiest little girl in town. My favorite fall pastime is... watching the pretty leaves fall. Something good I’ve read is.. I just read “Pilgrim’s Progress” again. John Bunyan is such a great writer. My pet peeve is... rude, arrogant people in a hurry who forget that “kindness is cool.” If I won the lottery, I’d... still have to look at myself in the mirror. Meet a Westsider” is a regular feature in the Westside Pioneer. If you would like to be a Meet-a-Westsider (or know someone who should be), please give us a call at 471-6776. |
