Art show at Bear Creek Nature Center to benefit its programs and exhibits

       The Bear Creek Nature Center will host an art show and sale Friday and Saturday, Oct. 17-18.
       Admission is free. Proceeds will be used to fund programming and exhibits at Bear Creek and Fountain Creek nature centers.
       Artists' media will include oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastel paintings; photography, jewelry; pottery; and writing (children's books).
       Live bluegrass music will be performed by the Peppergrass Band Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
       Times are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
       The Bear Creek Nature Center is at 245 Bear Creek Road, just south of the 26th Street and Lower Gold Camp Road intersection.
       The art show is sponsored by the Friends of El Paso County Nature Centers. This is the second year the Friends group has organized such an event in the fall. For more information, contact the Bear Creek Nature Center at 520-6387.
