Nature-themed art at Bear Creek

       Nature-themed art will be on display at the Bear Creek Nature Center, 245 Bear Creek Road, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 18-19.
       Titled Nature's Kalei-doscopes Art Show & Sale, the event times will be 4 to 8 p.m. on the 18th and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the 19th.
       Offered will be paintings, photography, jewelry and a wide variety of other art media, a press release states.
       Admission is free. Sale proceeds will support the El Paso County Nature Centers. The show is sponsored by the Friends of El Paso County Nature Centers.

       Council budget, e-gads
       City Council will conduct a public hearing and e-town hall on the 2014 City Budget Thursday, Oct. 17 from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
       Citizens who wish to talk at the hearing may sign up at City Hall, 107 N. Nevada Ave., beginning at 3 p.m. that day. Citizens may also send their budget comments via e-mail to 2014springsbudget@springsgov.com or leave a message at 385-5961 beginning Monday, Oct. 14.
       Need for volunteer drivers
       Silver Key Senior Services is seeking volunteer drivers for its Transportation Department. Drivers typically work one four-hour shift a week.
