Memorial ride scheduled Oct. 11 for Nick Uberecken

       A memorial ride for Nick Uberecken, a 22-year-old local resident who died in a traffic accident, will be Saturday, Oct. 11.
       Participants will gather at Coronado High School's parking lot, 1590 W. Filllmore St. Registration starts at 11 a.m., with the ride scheduled an hour later. Motorcycles and other types of vehicles are welcome.
       The end of the ride will be Bloom's Mill Hill Tavern, 1668 S. 21st St. “We will gather there to celebrate Nick's love of life,” a flyer states, adding that all proceeds will go to his fiancee Jordan and his mother Debra.
       The event is being “hosted by Danny Leiweke and Karen Edwin with the Central Colorado Riders and Raven X (Tony),” the flyer also states.
       The accident occurred Aug. 21 at Highway 24 and 31st Street when Uberecken's motorcycle collided with a car. Services were Aug. 27.
