4 Silver Key projects in annual Make a Difference Month

Four projects at Silver Key Senior Services are among five on the Westside needing volunteers as part of the 20th annual citywide Make a Difference Month in October, organized by the United Way.
A fifth Westside project needing help is at Greccio Housing.
To sign up for any project, people need to call the contact number ahead of time.
The four at Silver Key, 2250 Bott Ave. (phone 884-2319), are as follows:
  • Saturday, Oct. 9, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. - paint the office of the Silver Key Transportation department.
  • Monday, Oct. 18, 9 a.m. to noon - garden work.
  • Saturday, Oct. 23, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. - fill Thanksgiving boxes for seniors.
  • Saturday, Oct. 23, 4:30 to 6 p.m. - stock donated food.
The project for Greccio Housing, 1808 W. Colorado Ave. (phone 475-1422 ext. 31), has no scheduled date, but is “subject to volunteer availability,” the Make a Difference website states. Workers are needed to help clean Greccio properties.
People can sign up for projects anytime during the month, assuming they don't already have the requested number of volunteers. The full list can be found on the website - volunteerpikespeak.org. Last year more than 3,500 people participated in Make a Difference Month.
