Meet a Westsider:
Bob Dwyer

Profession/Occupation... grocery clerk at King Soopers for 31 years.

What I like most about the Westside is... basically, the people, the community feel.

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... try to take it back to where it was. Go back in time when it was slower-paced, the Ď50í or Ď60ís. Back to when you could leave your house unlocked. Everybody knew each other, and kids could go anywhere.

A good movie Iíve seen recently is... ďMr. 3000.Ē It had more depth to it than I expected it would.

The worst advice Iíve ever gotten was... not to go to college, which I unfortunately followed.

If I could meet someone famous, Iíd like to meet... Bob Hope, Red Skelton, Bill Cosby. I like their humor and intellect; they have a purer humor. They didnít/donít have to be vulgar.

The next time I travel, Iím going to... Ireland. Thatís where some of my ancestors came from. Iíve been to 23 countries and lived in 3. I was an Air Force brat.

My favorite childhood memory is... going to the Chief Theatre (downtown), standing in line in Manitou to get Manitou water from the old hand pump which is gone now (not far from the Bottling Plant), and being with my grandmother, who is still a Westsider, and my grandfather, who has passed away.

My favorite summer pastime is... hiking and being in the mountains, gold panning in the mountains!

Something good Iíve read is.. ďLove You Forever,Ē by Robert Munsch, that I read to my daughter, Leanne, who is 6. Also, I like reading informational books.

My pet peeve is... all the old landmarks that were torn down and can never be replaced.

If I won the lottery, Iíd... Iíd do more volunteer work
