Westside Briefs:
Man in store fracas arrested

A man who reportedly fired a gun inside the Big 5 sporting goods store in the Uintah Gardens shopping center Sept. 19 at about 1 p.m. was arrested later that afternoon, after police said he committed other crimes around the city, including two bank robberies.
David Anderson, 26, was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of attempted aggravated robbery.
No one was hurt, including at Big 5, where police said “an employee struggled with the suspect in an attempt to disarm him. The suspect left the store and was reported as making suicidal comments.”
Later reports to police stated that Anderson was throwing money out his car window and giving money to people in the Antler's Hotel lobby.
A police press release states, “If anyone was the recipient of any of the stolen money, we ask that you return it to the Colorado Springs Police so we can rightfully return it to the banks.”
